Year 4 is a crucial year, as it forms the transition between the lower school and upper school. It is a year where children consolidate learning from year 3, building on their progress to prepare them for year 5. The children are encouraged to be more independant; to take responsibility for themselves, their property and their action.
In Year 4 we aim to make learning relevant, purposeful and fun, through our topic based approach. The children are taught to be curious, to question and to explore their ideas through a variety of activities. Where ever possible we try to make these activities cross-curricular so that children can see the link between subjects. The children will use key-skills such as problem-solving and research; demonstrating their understand through individual, paired and group work.
Please feel free to visit the activities page for Year 4 where we occasionally display images and information on work currently being undertaken by our pupils.
