School Council raising awareness of homelessness with a sponsored sleep over
The school council meet regularly and discuss ideas on how to help the school and the local community. After a recent spell of particularly cold weather they decided to raise money for Porchlight, a charity that helps homeless people in the Canterbury area. 80 children will be taking part in a sponsored sleepover, either outside in our Forest School or in the school hall.
Nathan from Porchlight came and delivered a whole school assembly. He explained the work they do and gave examples of great success stories. The children are very excited and are hoping to raise as much money as possible for this very worthy cause. As well as the sleepover there will be a cake sale and a non-uniform day to raise additional funds on 25th May.
